State of AI Recommendations: B2B Software
Our first report studies how AI assistants build software shortlists. It will measure:
- Which software AI assistants name for best-of, alternatives and comparison prompts
- How much the answers differ between ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews
- How often answers change between repeated runs of the same prompt
- Which sources (review sites, lists, Reddit, vendor sites) the answers rely on
How it’s measured
- Prompts written the way software buyers ask them, across several B2B software categories
- Each prompt run three times on each of 5 engines, from clean sessions
- Full method and the raw prompt and answer data published with the report
